1. WHAT KAMAGRA IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR

This medicine contains the active substance sildenafil, which belongs to the group of medicines called "phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors". The drug relaxes the blood vessels in the penis, allowing blood to flow into the penis during sexual arousal. You will only get an erection with this medicine when you are sexually stimulated.

This drug is used to treat adult men with erectile dysfunction, sometimes also called impotence. This is when a man cannot get or maintain an erection sufficiently for sexual activity.

2. WHEN SHOULD YOU NOT USE THIS PRODUCT OR SHOULD YOU BE EXTRA CAREFUL?

When should you not use this medicine?

• You are allergic for sildenafil or for one of the substances in this These substances can be found in section 6.
• If you are taking medicines called “nitrates” as this combination can lead to a potentially dangerous drop in your blood pressure. Tell your doctor that you are taking these medicines that are often given to relieve angina (or “chest pain”).

If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

• If you are taking medicines that release nitric oxide, such as amyl nitrite (“poppers”), as this combination can also lead to a dangerous drop in your blood pressure.
• If you are taking riociguat. This medicine is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (i.e. high blood pressure in the lungs) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (i.e. high blood pressure in the lungs due to blood clots). PDE5 inhibitors, such as Viagra, have been shown to reduce the hypotensive (blood pressure lowering) effects of this drug. If you are taking riociguat or are unsure about taking it, you should contact your doctor.

 

• If you have a serious heart problem or liver problem
• If you have recently had a stroke or heart attack or if you have low blood pressure
• If you have a certain rare hereditary eye disorder (such as retinitis pigmentosa).
• If you have ever had vision loss due to non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION).

When should you be extra careful with this medicine?

Talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before taking this medicine

• If you have sickle cell anemia (an abnormality of red blood cells), leukemia (blood cell cancer), multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer),
• If you have a deformity of your penis or Peyronie's disease,
• If you have heart problems Your doctor should carefully check whether your heart can handle the extra strain of sexual activity,
• If you have a stomach ulcer, or a bleeding disorder (such as haemophilia),
• If you experience a sudden reduction or loss of vision, stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor immediately.

You should not use this medicine in combination with other oral (by mouth) or local treatments for erectile dysfunction.

You should not use this medicine in combination with treatments for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) that contain sildenafil or other PDE5 inhibitors.

You should not use this drug if you do not have erectile dysfunction. You should not use this medicine if you are a woman.

 

Special precautions for patients with kidney or liver problems

You should tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems. Your doctor may decide to prescribe you a lower dose.

Use in children and young people up to 18 years of age

This medicine should not be used by people under the age of 18.

Are you taking any other medicines?

Are you taking any other medicines besides Kamagra, have you done so recently or is it possible that you will use other medicines in the near future? Please tell your doctor or pharmacist

Kamagra tablets may affect the action of certain medicines, especially medicines used for "chest pain". In the event of a medical emergency, you should tell your doctor, pharmacist or nurse that you have used Kamagra and when you did so. Do not use this medicine in combination with other medicines, unless your doctor has indicated that this is possible.

You should not use Kamagra if you are taking medicines called “nitrates” because the combination of these medicines can lead to a potentially dangerous drop in your blood pressure. Always tell your doctor, pharmacist or nurse that you are taking these types of medicines, which are commonly used to relieve angina pectoris (or "chest pain").

You should not use Kamagra if you are taking medicines that release nitric oxide, such as amyl nitrite (“poppers”), because this combination can also lead to a dangerous drop in your blood pressure.

 

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are already taking riociguat.

If you are taking medicines known as protease inhibitors, such as for the treatment of HIV, your doctor may start you on the lowest dose of Kamagra (25 mg).

 

Some patients receiving alpha-blocker therapy for the treatment of high blood pressure or prostate enlargement may become dizzy or light-headed. This can be caused by low blood pressure when sitting or standing up quickly. Certain patients have experienced these symptoms when using Kamagra simultaneously with alpha blockers. The chance of this happening is greatest within 4 hours after taking Kamagra. To reduce the chance that these symptoms may occur, your daily dose of alpha blocker should be constant before you start taking Kamagra. Your doctor may prescribe a lower starting dose of Kamagra.

 

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking medicines for heart failure that contain sacubitril / valsartan.

What should you take with food, drinks and alcohol?

This medicine can be taken with or without food. However, you may find that this medicine takes a little longer to work if you take it with a heavy meal.

Drinking alcohol can temporarily reduce your ability to get an erection. To get the maximum benefit from your medicine, you are advised not to drink excessive amounts of alcohol before taking this medicine.

 

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility This medicine is not intended for use by women. Driving and using machines

This medicine may cause dizziness and may affect your vision. You should be aware of how you react to this medicine before driving or using machines.

 

Kamagra contains sodium

This medicine contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per tablet, that is to say essentially 'sodium-free'.

 

3. HOW TO TAKE THIS PRODUCT?

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Are you unsure about the correct use? Please contact your doctor or pharmacist. The usual starting dose is 50 mg.

 

You should not take this medicine more than once a day.

You should take this medicine about one hour before you plan to have sex. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

If you have the feeling that the effect of this medicine is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

This medicine only helps you get an erection when you are sexually aroused. The time until this medicine starts working varies per person, but it usually takes half an hour to an hour. This medicine may take longer to work if you have eaten a heavy meal.

 

If this medicine does not help you get an erection or if the erection does not last long enough for you to complete sexual intercourse, you should tell your doctor.

 

Have you taken too much of this medicine?

You may experience an increase in side effects and their severity. Dosages above 100 mg do not increase the effect.

You should not take more tablets than your doctor has told you.

Contact your doctor if you have taken more tablets than prescribed.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. The side effects reported in association with the use of this drug are usually mild to moderate and of short duration.

 

If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek immediate medical attention:

Chestpain - this comes once in a while (in less than 1 in 100 patients). If this occurs during or following sexual intercourse:

• Get into a semi-sitting position and try to relax
• Do not use nitrates for your chest pain

 

An allergic reaction - this comes once in a while (in less than 1 in 100 patients). Symptoms include sudden wheezing, difficulty breathing or dizziness, swelling of the eyelids, face, lips or throat.

Prolonged and sometimes painful erections - this comes seldom (less than 1 in 1000 patients). If you get an erection that lasts more than 4 hours, contact your doctor immediately.

A sudden decrease or loss of vision - this comes seldom in front of.

Severe skin reactions - this comes seldom in front of.

Symptoms may include severe peeling and swelling of the skin, blistering of the mouth, genitals and around the eyes, and fever.

Seizures and convulsions - this comes seldom in front of.

 

Other side effects:

Very often (affects more than 1 in 10 patients): headache.

Frequently (occur in less than 1 in 10 patients):

• nausea, flushing, hot flushes (symptoms may include a sudden feeling of warmth in the upper body), indigestion, effects on the

vision (including color vision abnormalities, blurred vision), nasal congestion and dizziness.

Sometimes (occur in less than 1 in 100 patients):

• vomiting, rash, eye irritation, bloodshot eyes/red eyes, eye pain, seeing flashes of light, visual clarity, hypersensitivity to light, watery eyes,

palpitations, rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, muscle pain, feeling drowsy, decreased sense of touch, vertigo, ringing in the ears, dry mouth, blocked or congested sinuses, inflammation of the mucous membranes of the nose ( with symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing and nasal congestion), pain in the upper abdomen, gastroesophageal reflux (with symptoms such as heartburn), blood in the urine, pain in the arms or legs, nosebleeds, feeling warm, and feeling tired to feel.

Rarely (occur in less than 1 in 1000 patients):

• fainting, stroke, heart attack, irregular heartbeat, temporarily reduced blood flow to parts of the brain, feeling of tight throat, numb mouth, bleeding behind the eye, double vision, reduced vision, abnormal sensation in the eye, swelling of the eye or eyelid, small particles or spots in your vision, seeing halos around light, dilation of the pupil of the eye, discoloration of the white of the eye, bleeding from the penis, blood in the semen, dry nose, swelling of the inside of the nose, irritated feeling, and a sudden reduction or loss of

 

From post-marketing experience, rare cases of unstable angina (a heart condition) and sudden death have been reported. It should be noted that most of these men who had these side effects, but not all, had previous heart problems before taking this medicine. It is impossible to determine whether there was a direct link between these events and the use of this medicine.

5. HOW TO STORE THIS PRODUCT?

Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Store in the original package in order to protect from light.

 

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date. This is stated on the carton and blister after “EXP”. There is a month and a year. The last day of that month is the expiry date.

Do not flush medicines down the sink or toilet or throw them in the rubbish bin. Ask your pharmacist what to do with medicines you no longer use. If you dispose of medicines correctly, they are destroyed responsibly and do not end up in the environment.

The active substance in this medicine is sildenafil.

Each tablet contains 100 mg sildenafil (as the citrate salt).

 

The other ingredients in this medicine are:

What does Kamagra look like and how much does a pack contain?

Kamagra 100 mg are green, oval film-coated tablets with an ajanta pharma logo on both sides. The tablet can be divided into equal doses.

The tablets are available in blister packs containing 4 tablets.
Some packaging may not be available in your country.
